Know the facts

What is a dry skin?[-]
  •
  • Dry skin usually has rough, flaky, or chapped appearance. It can also be itchy, sensitive and easily irritated. Dry skin occurs when skin loses its moisture content. In simple words, your skin does not have enough water in it. There are many factors that can contribute to dry skin includes genetics, excessive bathing and weather. Dry skin is most likely to occur during the winter months due to the cold, dry conditions outside and the warm, dry environment of an artificially heated place inside. Additionally, as skin ages, it loses its natural ability to replenish moisture lost throughout the day.

They may also have visible reactions such as redness and rash. There are a variety of factors that can lead to a sensitive skin. Some evidence indicates that it may be related to genetics. What is Body Breakouts?[-]
  •
  • While breakouts are often thought to be a facial skincare problem, they can appear all over the body. They are most common on the back, chest and shoulders, where oil glands are plentiful. The causes of body breakouts are the same as those for facial breakouts. Acne is usually related to increased sebum production. Excess sebum can mix with dead skin cells that build up in pores, resulting in a clogged pore. Sebum is an oily substance naturally produced by the skin. The sebum in the clogged pore promotes the growth of a certain bacteria, P. Acnes, which is always present in the skin. The result of this bacterial growth is irritated skin, and leads to the redness and inflammation associated with pimples.

What is Sun Damage?[-]
  •
  • Sun damage (also known as photodamage) of the skin can either be acute like sunburn, or chronic like the gradual changes of the skin caused by accumulation of sun exposure throughout your life. Chronic photodamage results in either a cosmetic change in the skin’s appearance, such as fine and coarse wrinkles, or changes that are of medical or health concerns. The sun can also change skin through freckles, discolored areas of the skin, sallowness, which is a yellow discoloration of the skin, and more. There’s very strong evidence that ultraviolet light is the cause of most of the changes associated with aging skin.
